Not Since The Notebook...

... have I found a Nicholas Sparks book that I enjoyed reading. That is until now.

Usually Nicholas Spark's books are annoyingly predictable, have shallow characters, and always try to hard to have a dramatic ending, but I'm actually enjoying Safe Haven. It's about a mysterious woman who shows up in a small town with a lot of baggage and secrets, who falls in love with your typical southern gentlemen. Only her crazy alcoholic God-fearing estranged husband is trying to find her and bad things might happen if he does.  I have about 100 pages left, let's hope Sparks doesn't ruin a good thing.

  1. If you tend to dislike his books what got you to read another one? I don't know if I could be convinced to read another book by an author I disliked...unless maybe I heard great things. How do you chose what books to read next btw? you should write a post about that.

  2. I guess I keep going back for more because I enjoy the movies that have been made out of his books (Night in Rodanthe, The Notebook, Message in a Bottle) and expect the books to be just as good. Also, a lot of people love to read his books and that makes me think I should too. Post about book choices coming soon!
