I found out about this book from Oprah. It was written by Jon Stewart and the other members of The Daily Show and is basically an encyclopedia of things relevant in history and in our world today that describe or sum up what being a human is all about. The book is split up into categories or topics, such as The Life Cycle, Society, Religion, Science, and Culture. Under each topic are subsections that describe in detail the objects, events, and customs related to that topic. There is usually something sarcastic thrown into the description, which rocks as I love sarcasm. I also loved the inside jokes thrown in - things that some people may get while others wouldn't if they hadn't been exposed to it. Of course I was left puzzled occasionally, but more often than not I was laughing to myself.
At first I thought this would be a good book for kids as the text is broken up enough to hold a short attention span and there are lots of pictures. But then there ended up being a lot of F-bombs and penis jokes, so I changed my mind pretty quickly. Regardless, the book is more educational and humorous than inappropriate.
In the end, I recommend this book to anyone who has been living the last 20-25 years... And who can appreciate a good penis joke.

We listened to this entire book on the way home from Chicago a few weeks ago. Very entertaining and thought there was lots of interesting information. However, it seemed to be mostly catered to college kids...mostly male (hence, the penis jokes and the jokes about being high), but the comedy was intelligent, for the most part, and yes sarcasm is always fun! The audio book was good because they all did different jokes...and John Oliver ALWAYS makes me laugh.
