I don't remember growing up with a lot of music. When I was about eight I remember hearing a Lorrie Morgan song on the radio and liking it, before that I don't remember anything musical about my childhood (besides Sesame Street). Of course as I got older and entered middle school and high school I began to discover more music and this was the time period when I first began to appreciate The Beatles. I've loved music from the 1960's and 1970's for a long time, and I think this iconic group had a lot to do with it. So without further ado, my Top 5 favorite Beatles' songs*:
1. Strawberry Fields Forever, Album: Magical Mystery Tour, Released November 27, 1967
(Sidenote: "Living is easy with eyes closed" - one of my favorite lyrics of all time!)
2. Across the Universe, Album: Let it Be, Released May 8, 1970
3. Let it Be, Album: Let it Be, Released May 8, 1970
4.Yesterday, Album: Help!, Released August 6, 1965
5. In My Life, Album: Revolver, Released December 3, 1965
Honorable mentions:
Eleanor Rigby, Glass Onion, Good Day Sunshine, Blackbird, Here Comes the Sun, Hey Jude. (I really love all these songs and should have done a Top 11.)
*PS: This was REALLY hard.
Writing this post took me a LONG time... I probably listened to about 25 songs!
