Toy Story 3

I was going to go to a play at CDA's theatre last night but decided instead to stay in and watch Toy Story 3, which I received from Netflix.

NEVER have I cried so hard at an animated film. I shed some tears during WALL-E, but this was like blubbering, sobbing, I can't breathe normal crying. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll just say that this embarrassing scene took place when the toys were holding hands. Those of you who have seen it will know what I'm talking about. I also cried a lot at the very end, but man, I was a huge baby during that hand holding scene.

Since I have every other Disney DVD (animated), I'm of course going to purchase it so I have a copy for myself. I can't wait to watch it with Paul! I'm lucky in the fact that he is amazingly a man who can appreciate the greatness of Disney and animation.

I'm guessing this is the final Toy Story, which is fine with me. It ended perfectly, and for being someone who thought that it was going to end with Toy Story 2 (and Jessie is less annoying in the 3rd installment), it was a treat getting to see these favorite big-screen toys again.

  1. I'm way out of date when it comes to the Toy Story films, I've only seen the first Toy Story once when it was in theaters years ago. I keep hearing how good both sequels are but I've yet to find the enthusiasm to see them. Although Pixar and Co. are fantastic storytellers, I'm afraid I still can't adapt well to CGI vs. hand drawn animation.

  2. They are definitely worth seeing! Toy Story was one of the first CGI films if I remember correctly, but the type of animation doesn't effect how good the story is, IMO. They are just so much fun!

  3. Matt and I would rather go to animated movies in the theatre as they tend to be better. I think you'd have to be a real jerk to not love animated movies! I think Paul is lucky to have you... but I'm biased.
