Coeur d'Alene Ironman

The CDA Ironman is being held in my beautiful city again this year on June 26th. Paul and I will be participating!

Don't be getting any crazy thoughts thinking we will be doing any physical activity. Instead, we are going to be manning a fuel station for the running portion of the triathlon. I have a general idea of what runners eat and drink during their 26.2 mile run ... something along the lines of bananas, Gatorade, energy gel, gummy bears, and of course water.

Here is the route:

Paul and I will be stationed somewhere along CDA Lake Drive, towards the bottom of the picture there. I picked that aide station because I want pretty views as I stand around for 4 hours on a Sunday.

Last year I watched approximately 3 minutes of the biking portion of the triathlon and went home so this year I'm making an effort to be involved. Will post how it went later this month!

  2. Cool you are getting involved with a local event!

I personally have no interested whatsoever in watching something like this. I mean, I respect people who push themselves and reach their goals, but I have no idea what motivates people to run marathons and triathlons. Why not just do it on your own? Why in a group? I don't get it. In any case, I hope you have fun!
