Three Day Weekend!

We have a very low population at the SNF I work at, which means less work for the therapists. When this happens we have two options: 1. Go to another building in the area that is under the same company as ours, 2. Take time off. Since I worked at another building on Tuesday and it was no fun, I decided to take a vacation day on Friday to give myself a three day weekend!

The only problem is that I don't really know what to do with myself these next three days. I feel like I should do something fun, but I don't know what. I don't really have any money to spend on something fun and I have no one to go on an adventure with, so I'm stuck thinking of something cheap and local to do. Here are some options I've come up with:
  • Bake something delicious.
  • Go to the library.
  • Go to the bookstore and read magazines for free, then put them back on the shelf.
  • Go to a coffee shop and read a book I already have.
  • Watch the last 3 episodes of True Blood season 2 so I can begin the withdrawal process of waiting until season 3 to come out on DVD.
  • Clean.
  • Go to a matinee movie.
  • Talk to Kobe about the oddities in life.
  • Put all the recipe clippings I have laying around into a scrapbook type collection.
  • Watch unhealthy amounts of Law and Order: SVU like I did last weekend.
  • Go to the gym?
  • Organize my pantry.
  • Talk to my husband about "the future."
  • Plan my Thanksgiving menu (since it's just me and Kobe, it will be all vegetarian and may or may not include a doggie birthday cake since it was his golden birthday on the 8th!)
I could really do all of these things, or none of them. The sky is the limit! Any ideas of things I could add to my list?

  1. I can't wait to see your ideas for thanksgiving! Please share. Paul and I are staying in and I could use some new ideas for veggie stuff.

Have a great 3 day weekend! You should totally get out and do something active like go for a walk, or maybe try a new class at your gym. I don't know about you, but I've been horrible about working out lately and it is only getting harder to get back into it. Good luck :)

  2. I go to B&N everyweek and read all the magazines I can stand, for free teehee! It's my favrotie! The cool thing is you can do that at the Library as well!

You could lay in bed all day, watch Netflix "watch instantly" movies on your laptop until your eyes burn out of your head (that's one of my favroties to do!) You should def finish True Blood season 2 while you're at it, who needs eyes anyway?

  3. I hope you found something fun to do this week-end...all of your ideas sounded pretty good...too bad Paul isn't here so you could go do something fun together. Allison and Patrick have had some great adventures already in NH...mostly going to the beach b/f it got too cold!!

  4. You come up with the BEST ideas!!! i really need to get into his blog business more...but it makes me laugh how it says "anonymous said..." so I wouldn't want to create a profile or anything to take that fun away. Have a great week!
